Beag, òr agus brèagha,
flùraichean snog le cridhe,
preasant Nollaig bhom athair gràdhach,
fàinne bheag phrìseil.


Bha mi deich nuair chuir mi i,
beag agus snog, air mo làimh chlì
agus nam chridhe gu sàbhailt,
m' fhàinne bheag phrìseil.

 

Small, gold and beautiful,
pretty flowers and a heart,
a Christmas present from my beloved father,
a precious little ring.


I was ten when I put it,
small and sweet, onto my left hand
and safe into my heart –
my precious little ring.
