Dh'ionnsaich i rudan cudromach dhuinn,
mar èisteachd agus coiseachd
mu chuairt an rum is anns an sgoil,
's a bhith modhail bhon an toiseach.

 

Miss MacLean is the nice teacher
that I had for a year:
we often had fun —
six boys and eleven girls.

She taught us important things,
like listening and walking
round the room and inside the school,
and to be polite from the very beginning
